TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A convicted bank robber ended three days on the run at an east Tupelo motel.

The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (https://bit.ly/20ewQKO ) reports 58-year-old Chris Cosner, who was found guilty of robbing a Saltillo bank in July 2015, escaped from the Monroe County Detention Facility earlier this week.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says deputies took Cosner, who was considered armed and dangerous, into custody without incident Thursday afternoon at the Commodore Motel on East Main Street.

Cosner allegedly carried a pistol and a pipe bomb into the First American National Bank in Saltillo. He left the bank with about $20,000 but dropped the money bag after the dye pack exploded. He was captured moments later by Saltillo Police Chief Grant Bailey.

The sentencing hearing is set for Aug. 10.
