TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The top editor at The Arizona Daily Star in Tucson is leaving her job.

Bobbie Jo Buel was has worked at the Star for 36 years and has served as executive editor since 2003, the same year she was inducted into the Arizona Daily Wildcat Hall of Fame.

Her last day is Friday.

Senior Editor Hipolito R. Corella will replace Buel in an interim capacity and the paper will launch a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.

Buel said in an online posting that she was not retiring, but she did not say where she’ll work next.
