FULTONDALE, Ala. (AP) - Police say a man accused of fatally shooting his brother inside their home in central Alabama has been charged with murder.

Al.com (https://bit.ly/1YJzQOM ) reported Friday that 37-year-old Derwin Ray Boyd has been charged in the death of 40-year-old Andre Boyd. Fultondale Police chief D.P. Smith says the slaying occurred Tuesday at a public housing community.

Smith says the brothers got into an argument and one shot the other.

Andre Boyd was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Derwin Boyd stayed on the scene and was taken into custody.

Court records show that Derwin Boyd remains in the Jefferson County Jail on a $250,000 bond. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
