OTTUMWA, Iowa (AP) - A Wapello County jury has convicted a 26-year-old man of killing another man in a southeast Iowa bait shop.
Ricky Keasling was found guilty Thursday of first-degree murder and burglary. The Ottumwa Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1XnJNm4 ) that his sentencing is scheduled for June 27. The murder charge carries a mandatory term of life in prison.
Prosecutors say Keasling shot to death 64-year-old Darrell Teeter, whose body was found in the Main Street Bait Shop in Eldon on Aug. 11, 2014. He’d been shot in the head.
Court records say Keasling is also known by the last name of Davidson. The records say he changed it to Keasling in December 2014.
