ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to life in prison in the fatal shooting of a convenience store clerk in Arkadelphia.

The Siftings Herald (https://bit.ly/1YJBxvu ) reports that a jury found Laron Edward Williams guilty of capital murder Wednesday for his role in the January killing of 24-year-old Christopher D. Brown at Jordan’s Kwick Stop Shell. He was automatically sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Williams was also sentenced to 40 years in prison for a charge of aggravated robbery, plus an additional 15 years of enhancement due to the use of a gun during the crime.

The sentences came after a long day of varied emotional and scientific testimony in the case.
