CHESTER, Pennsylvania (AP) - Richie Marquez scored his first MLS goal in the 91st minute and the Philadelphia Union beat D.C. United 1-0 on Friday to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

Sebastien Le Toux curled a cross into the box that went over the head of C.J. Sapong and a defender, but Marquez was left open at the far post for a sliding finish.

Philadelphia is undefeated in its last five matches and moves to 18 points, one point ahead of New York City FC which hosts city-rival New York on Saturday.

D.C. United has 13 points and has lost two of its last three.

The goalkeepers dominated a match of few goal-scoring opportunities.

D.C. United’s Travis Worra could not secure a long shot and the ball fell to the feet of an open Le Toux in front of an empty net. But Le Toux’s first touch was too strong and Worra recovered to clear a deflected shot in the 51st minute.

Philadelphia’s Andre Blake made an acrobatic save of Alvaro Saborio’s bicycle kick in the 63rd.
