MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis has signed guard Christian Kessee as a graduate transfer from Coppin State.

Kessee led Coppin State with 14.6 points per game this past season. The 6-foot-2 guard made 88 3-point baskets and shot 39.5 percent from beyond the arc.

As a graduate transfer, Kessee will be able to play for Memphis in 2016-17 rather than having to sit out a season.

Kessee scored in double figures 25 times this past season. He averaged 19 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists over his last 10 games of the season.

As a sophomore, Kessee averaged 9.6 points, 2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 2014-15.
