RENO, Nev. (AP) - A suspect in a homicide in Mississippi has been arrested in northern Nevada.

The Nevada Department of Public Safety says 28-year-old Cedric Gunn was placed on probation in Washoe County in December after pleading guilty to stolen vehicle charges.

Lt. Andrew Shuman of the Nevada Division of Parole and Probation says Gunn broke the terms of his probation last month and a warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this month.

Shuman says they then learned that a warrant for Gunn had been issued in Mississippi in connection with an April 2015 homicide

Nevada authorities located him and arrested him Thursday without incident in the Stead area north of Reno. He was being held without bail on Friday in the Washoe County Jail.

No court appearance has been set. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
