SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a car in an early morning crash on the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge.

KTVU reports (https://bit.ly/1sFOhtp ) the crash was first reported around 2:17 a.m. Friday on the western span of the bridge in the eastbound direction, just before the Treasure Island off-ramp.

The California Highway Patrol says the motorcyclist appeared to slow down, leading to the deadly collision.

The woman who was driving the car who hit the biker stayed at the scene and was not cited or arrested.

The crash closed three lanes of the bridge for more than two hours but traffic was moving again by the start of the commute. The collision remains under investigation.
