WINDSOR, Maine (AP) - More than 20 busloads of Maine students are headed to Windsor for the first day of the Northeast Livestock Expo, which will focus on educating young children about agriculture.
The eleventh annual expo begins on Friday and lasts through Sunday. Organizers say almost 1,000 children from kindergarten through sixth grade will take class at the Windsor Fairgrounds on Friday.
Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry commissioner Walt Whitcomb says the event’s first day will help students learn about the proper care for different kinds of animals.
The public is welcome at the expo and admission is free.
