CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Officials say a 43-year-old convicted child sex offender serving 12-to-50 years in Nevada state prison has died at a hospital in Carson City.

The Nevada Department of Corrections says Ramses Reyes was pronounced dead Tuesday at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. A cause of death wasn’t disclosed.

A prisons spokeswoman said Friday that an autopsy will be performed.

Reyes had been hospitalized at a prison medical facility at Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

Records show that Reyes pleaded guilty in 2007 in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas to lewdness with a minor and attempted use of a child in the production of pornography.
