NEW YORK (AP) - Police with helicopters and dogs have been searching for a man who was seen wheeling a dead body on a dolly and leaving it on the front lawn of a New York City home.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. Friday.

Police say the man fled when an off-duty detective saw him wheeling the corpse, covered with a sheet, and tried to question him.

The NYPD says the man being sought was arrested for fare evasion on April 30.

The medical examiner will determine what caused the death of the unidentified woman, believed to be in her mid-20s.
