NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A tax preparer faces federal prison time after she admitted leaving out $315,004 worth of income on her tax returns.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite’s office says 39-year-old Christie Robinson pleaded guilty to four counts of making false statements on tax returns.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune (https://bit.ly/1NAVR1I ) reports sentencing is set for Aug. 17. She faces up to three years in prison on each count and a fine of up to $100,000.
Polite’s office says Robinson owned CRR Services LLC., a Kenner tax preparation business. Robinson handled income tax returns for clients but she underreported the fees she received for those services in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
