BUCKEYE, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on a closure of Interstate 10 west of Phoenix (all times local):

10:30 a.m.

A two-mile stretch of eastbound Interstate 10 is open again after being was closed much of Friday morning due to a three-vehicle fatal accident on the western outskirts of the Phoenix area.

The accident occurred in Buckeye before 4 a.m. and the closure lasted over six hours.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says 24-year-old Ricardo Vasquez-Vasquez of Avondale was killed in the accident.

Traffic was detoured off I-10 onto State Route 85 during the closure.

8:55 a.m.

Crews are clearing wreckage but a two-mile stretch of eastbound Interstate 10 remains closed on a the western fringe of the Phoenix area following a three-vehicle fatal accident.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety identified the man killed Friday morning as 24-year-old Ricardo Vasquez-Vasquez of Avondale.

Eastbound I-10 is closed at State Route 85 in Buckeye, and the state Department of Transportation says traffic heading to the Phoenix area can take State Route 85 and then Broadway and Miller roads to return to eastbound I-10.

Eastbound I-10 traffic headed past Phoenix can use State Route 85 to reach Interstate 8 to return to I-10 near Casa Grande.

6:55 a.m.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says one person was killed in a three-vehicle accident that has closed Interstate 10 on the western fringe of the Phoenix area at the beginning of the Friday morning commute.

ADOT says there’s no estimate on when the closed stretch of I-10 will reopen. Westbound I-10 remains open.

6:20 a.m.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says there’s at least one fatality from an accident that has closed a two-mile stretch of eastbound I-10 on the western fringe of the Phoenix area at the beginning of the Friday morning commute.
