KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a Union County medical clinic owner has been charged with identity theft and prescription drug fraud.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says agents began investigating 45-year-old Kristi Lynn Walker, who owned and operated Quality Medical Center in Maynardville, in February 2015.

The bureau says agents discovered that Walker used patient identifying information to get prescription medication for other people.

Walker has been indicted on three counts of identity theft, two counts of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of fraudulent attempt to obtain controlled substances, two counts of prescription drug fraud and one count of forgery. She was arrested Wednesday.

A Union County court clerk says records do not show if Walker has a lawyer.
