ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - The University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business is getting a new dean.

A news release sent Thursday says D. Scott DeRue will be dean of the business school starting July 1. The Board of Regents approved DeRue’s five-year appointment Thursday. DeRue is currently a professor and associate dean for executive education at the business school.

Current Dean Alison Davis-Blake is stepping down after five years and will go back to the faculty.

DeRue has a bachelor’s degree of business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in business administration from Michigan State University.
