Utah unemployment rate at 3.7 percent

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah’s unemployment rate rose slightly last month to 3.7 percent.

Carrie Mayne, an economist at the state Department for Workforce Services, said Friday that officials believe Utah’s jobless rate in April was up because more workers were seeking jobs as the economy grows.

The national unemployment rate remained at 5 percent in April.
