BURGETTSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - State police say two people were thrown from a vehicle and a third also injured when the car crashed during a police chase in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Troopers haven’t said who was driving, but identified the injured - all 19-year-olds - as Timothy Romenetti, of Hickory, and Shea Carroll and Rachel Phillips, both of Washington, Pennsylvania.

Troopers from the Washington barracks say the vehicle sped away from a traffic stop about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday then hit a tree on Lynn Portal Road in Cross Creek Township.

Romenetti and Phillips weren’t wearing seat belts and were ejected. They’ve been taken to a Pittsburgh hospital with serious injuries. Carroll was belted into the vehicle and was taken to nearby Washington Hospital with lesser injuries.

No charges or citations have been issued.
