FINGAL, N.D. (AP) - Law enforcement authorities in North Dakota say they have destroyed a suspicious homemade explosive device found Monday in the mailbox of a rural Fingal residence.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin tells KOVC radio that the object was identified as a dangerous device.

He says the Red River Valley Regional Bomb Squad detonated the homemade device.

The sheriff’s office is looking for help identifying a white Mazda or Toyota pickup described as a vehicle of interest in the case.
