BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a June head-on crash that killed two people.

Jordan Morsette was sentenced Tuesday in Bismarck. He pleaded guilty in April to two counts of criminal vehicular homicide and one count of criminal vehicular injury.

Authorities say Morsette was intoxicated while driving a pickup truck the wrong way on the Bismarck Expressway. The pickup collided with a car, killing 22-year-old Abby Renschler and 21-year-old Taylor Goven and injuring 21-year-old Shayna Monson.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1szdXr2 ) reports Monson on Tuesday in court said she hopes “others learn from this accident and don’t drink and drive.”

South Central District Judge David Reich said he hopes the sentence will serve as a deterrent.
