BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Bismarck man accused of killing a woman has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Thirty-three-year-old Morris Brickle-Hicks is charged in the death of Misty Coffelt, whose body was found outside of a business on April 14.

Police allege Brickle-Hicks struck Coffelt in the face about half a dozen times. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt head trauma.

Brickle-Hicks appeared in court on Monday, entered his plea and was scheduled for a five-day trial beginning Oct. 24. He could face life in prison without parole if convicted.

He remains jailed on $1 million bond.
