BENTON, La. (AP) - Authorities say an off-duty Bossier City firefighter has been electrocuted.
Bossier City Fire Chief Brad Zagone said in a written statement that George William Chambers IV was pronounced dead Sunday.
Zagone says Chambers made contact with a low-hanging power line while riding a horse Sunday morning in a field in Bossier City. He says the horse that Chambers was riding was also electrocuted.
Chambers was a 20-year veteran with the Bossier City Fire Department and was a fire truck driver.
