OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A judge has dismissed charges filed against a man accused of killing another Omaha resident.

Thirty-eight-year-old Alandus Warren Sr. was arrested in the June 5, 2015, shooting death of 36-year-old Terrell Brown. His body was found behind a northeast Omaha business center.

A judge last month approved prosecutors’ request for a dismissal, but they can refile the murder and weapons charges. Warren had pleaded not guilty, and his trial had been scheduled to begin May 2.

Prosecution and defense attorneys didn’t immediately return Associated Press calls seeking information about why the charges were dropped.
