WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a suburban New York City gang leader has received a 30-year prison sentence for the December 2013 shooting death of a man who was attending a candlelight vigil.

The Journal News reports (https://lohud.us/1TTBeKQ ) 25-year-old Da’Quan Johnson of Yonkers has been sentenced in White Plains.

Authorities say Johnson and others traveled to a rival gang’s territory and sprayed bullets at mourners who were gathered to remember a motorcyclist killed in a crash.

He pleaded guilty in January to racketeering and murder conspiracy charges in the death of Tyrone Arthur.

Authorities say a dozen people indicted on charges including murder and racketeering have pleaded guilty.
