LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Joey Durel, the former three-term mayor president of Lafayette Consolidated Government, is joining IBERIABANK as business development officer for the Lafayette area.
The Lafayette-based banking corporation, in a news release Monday, announced Durel’s new job.
Durel left office in January after serving three terms leading city-parish government. Before taking office, he owned Durel’s Pet Shops in Lafayette and several Arby’s franchises, among other business interests.
Acadiana Market President Jerry Vascocu says Durel’s background in owning and managing his own businesses and experience in running the city will be an asset to IBERIABANK.
IBERIABANK Corporation is a financial holding company with 298 combined offices, including 199 bank branch offices and three loan production offices in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and Georgia.
