PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say a man was struck and killed by a train in Philadelphia during the evening rush hour.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority says the man was hit at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on the westbound side of the Market-Frankford line at the 13th street station.

SEPTA says shuttle buses are operating instead of the Market-Frankford line between the 30th Street station and Spring Garden.

No other information was immediately available on the circumstances or the man who was killed.
