THETFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Investigators believe a fire that killed three people in April in northern Genesee County may have been intentionally set.

Robert Kenny, the police chief in Thetford Township says, “That’s the way we’re leaning.” But he told The Flint Journal (https://bit.ly/1TCWZ4h ) that more interviews need to be conducted.

Three people, including an 80-year-old man, died from burns and smoke inhalation. Two dogs also died. Kenny says the fire began on the exterior of the house, about 65 miles northwest of Detroit.

The Journal says specially trained dogs hit on three spots in the home. There also were explosions on April 14.
