FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - In a story May 24, The Associated Press erroneously described the role of a man who pleaded guilty in a case involving three stolen puppies. Paul Griffin pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property, not theft.

A corrected version of the story is below:

Man pleads guilty in puppy theft case, sentenced to a year

A man involved in a stolen puppy case has been sentenced to a year behind bars

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - A man charged in the theft of three puppies worth nearly $4,000 from a Holliston kennel has been sentenced to a year behind bars.

The MetroWest Daily News (https://bit.ly/246btMD ) reports that 32-year-old Paul Griffin, of Plainville, pleaded guilty Monday to receiving stolen property.

Authorities say two boxers and a Labrador retriever were stolen from the Pik-A-Pup kennel in October. Employees told police three people came into the store before the theft and asked about the puppies, but left without buying them.

An anonymous tip about photos of the puppies posted on social media led police to the defendants. The dogs were returned to the kennel unharmed.
