BEAUFORT, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina Department of Labor is investigating after a worker fell at a construction site in Carteret County and later died.
A Beaufort Police Department news release said that the accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday when the worker fell through an open section of a roof on a building that was under construction.
Authorities say 42-year-old Edward Wayne Turner of Blounts Creek was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
