HOUMA, La. (AP) - The Terrebonne Parish Council has rejected all wind-hardening and flood-proofing bids for the Terrebonne Parish Courthouse Annex.

The Courier reports (https://bit.ly/1Rn3rb2) the project’s apparent low bidder Phoenix Architectural Products Inc. retracted the time extension holding its bid price and the bids came in over budget. The project engineer, Houma-based Providence/GSE Associates, recommended that all the bids be rejected and the project be rebid when adequate money is secured.

Parish Capital Projects Administrator Jeanne Bray said Monday the annex is one of several vulnerable public buildings identified in the parish’s Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Future wind hardening on the annex is part of a parish-wide $5 million push to protect public buildings, including the Houma police station, the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, Government Tower, the generating station, the fire station and the Public Safety Building.
