REPUBLIC, Mich. (AP) - Officials say two tornadoes damaged trees as severe storms moved across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

No injuries were reported from Tuesday’s storms.

The National Weather Service says the first tornado was detected near Republic in in Marquette County around 2:30 p.m., snapping pine trees more than 12 inches in diameter.

The weather service says a second tornado was detected about 3 p.m. near Greenwood Reservoir in Marquette County, damaging trees.

MLive.com reports the tornadoes were considered relatively weak. In the coming days, thunderstorms are possible throughout the state.
