Autopsy: Man found in St. Martin pond died of drowning

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Officials say a man found dead in a pond near an apartment complex in St. Martin drowned.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1qIvsEb) an autopsy confirmed the man died of drowning.

Jackson County sheriff’s deputies say a maintenance worker at The Reserve at Gulf Hills apartment complex spotted the body Monday in the water and notified authorities.

Deputy coroner Jason Moody says the manner in which he died is still under investigation.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
