REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) - The weekend express bus service that takes Delawareans to Rehoboth from New Castle and Kent counties is set to launch, marking the beginning of the Delaware Beaches summer tourism season.
The News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/25gUg5u) DART’s bus route 305 will start operating for the summer on Friday. Buses will pick up riders at the Amtrak station in Wilmington, Christiana Mall, Odessa Park and Ride, and Scarborough Road Park and Ride in Dover before arriving at the Rehoboth Park and Ride.
The cost to ride the bus ranges from $7.80 to $13. Riders can also buy a $22 round-trip, day-pass, which can also be used on local beach routes.
Delaware Department of Transportation traffic manager Gene Donaldson says travelers from northern Delaware on Friday should avoid rush-hour and leave during the early afternoon or after 8 p.m.
