YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Fire officials say an early morning blaze that tore through a duplex in Yakima destroyed one apartment and damaged three others.

The Yakima Fire Department says about 15 people have been displaced and damages are estimated at about $200,000.

The cause is under investigation but fire officials say the blaze appears to have started in the kitchen of the duplex unit that was destroyed. It was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The Yakima Herald-Republic says several dozen firefighters from nine departments helped knock down the blaze.
