NEWPORT, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire high school guidance counselor has been convicted of seven counts of indecent exposure and lewdness.
The Eagle Times reports (https://bit.ly/247DGCW ) Judge Bruce Cardello found Thomas Mauzy guilty Tuesday and suspended his one-year jail sentence for probation and psychological testing.
The Newport High school guidance counselor was accused of standing naked in front of his bedroom window in full view of his upstairs neighbor, who reported him to Sunapee police.
The judge ruled that Mauzy’s behavior caused “affront and alarm” to the victim.
SAU No. 43 Superintendent Cindy Gallagher says she can’t comment on Mauzy’s employment status because it’s a personnel matter. She says the state Department of Education will decide whether to revoke his certification.
Mauzy has been on administrative leave since his December arrest.
