PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man has been charged in a hit-and-run at a Philadelphia bus shelter that left a man dead.
Thirty-five-year-old John Cook is charged with vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter and fleeing the scene of a fatal accident.
Police allege he drove his Lexus at high speed into a bus shelter near the Roosevelt Mall just after midnight Tuesday, tossing the victim about 120 feet. The crash killed 50-year-old Alejo Molina, who police say was either waiting for a bus or walking on the sidewalk nearby.
Police say the driver got out, walked over and looked at the victim, and then ran away.
Court documents don’t list an attorney for Cook. A listed number for him couldn’t be found Wednesday.
