HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - An Alabama man is behind bars in Hattiesburg after allegedly impersonating a police officer.

WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/1WUhpd5 ) reports 21-year-old Joshua Hernandez, of Birmingham, was arrested Wednesday by the Mississippi Highway Patrol along Interstate 59 near Hattiesburg.

MHP officials say Hernandez allegedly flashed a badge to a woman and tried to pull her over. The driver called into MHP and a trooper caught up with Hernandez’s car and determined he was not a law enforcement officer.

Officials say he didn’t use any blue lights, but showed the badge and was flashing his lights in what stemmed from a possible road rage incident.

Hernandez was taken to the Forrest County Jail and charged with one count of impersonating a police officer. It was unknown if he has an attorney.
