BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The 28-year-old man shot and killed by Boulder police after officers say he pointed a gun at them had a history of drug problems.
The Daily Camera reports (https://tinyurl.com/zqyd3gm ) that Bryson Fischer had drug-possession arrests in Boulder, Adams and Denver counties. The Erie man had posted on Facebook that drugs ruined his life.
He pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and was sentenced to 36 months in a halfway house after a 2007 arrest in connection with a stabbing that injured a man at a party in Broomfield.
Members of Fischer’s family have declined to comment.
Police say Fischer pointed his gun at officers Ryan Austin and Ross Maynard when they went to investigate reports of him firing a gun into Boulder Creek.
