MILWAUKEE (AP) - The detailed design of the new downtown Milwaukee Bucks arena has received the approval of the Common Council in Milwaukee.
The council voted 15-0 Tuesday to approve the designs for the arena and a training facility, while a vote to approve a parking structure’s design was 14-1. A June 18 arena groundbreaking ceremony is being planned by the Bucks.
The Journal Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1Twxt3F ) reports the plan for the parking structure was opposed by Alderman Nik Kovac because it didn’t have details about future apartments that the team says will be included.
The Bucks plan to work with a developer to put 70 apartments on the five upper levels of the parking structure, but there hasn’t yet been disclosure of a developer and detailed plans for the apartments.
