CINCINNATI (AP) - A woman charged with murder in the death of her 2-year-old girl who weighed 13 pounds when she died of starvation and blunt-force injury has rejected a plea deal in southwest Ohio.
Twenty-nine-year-old Andrea Bradley told a judge in Cincinnati on Wednesday that she wouldn’t accept a deal from prosecutors to change her plea in exchange for removing the death sentence possibility she could face if convicted at trial. She has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder in the March 2015 death of Glenara Bates.
Bradley’s attorney, William Welsh, said Bradley felt it was in her best interest to not accept the deal and go forward.
Glenara’s father pleaded not guilty to the same charges.
Authorities say Glenara was badly beaten and had bite marks and other injuries.
