PALMYRA, Mo. (AP) - Prosecutors in northeastern Missouri’s Marion County have upgraded a murder charge against a man accused in connection with a 2014 shooting death.

KMIZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1TvYap1 ) reports that Jason Lage now is charged with first-degree murder. He had been accused of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and evidence tampering.

Lage has been ordered jailed on $1 million cash bond. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.

Lage and a co-defendant, Jessica Munoz of Moberly, were arrested shortly after Zachary Dawson was found shot to death.

Munoz pleaded guilty this month to involuntary manslaughter and hindering prosecution of a felony. She’s to be sentenced July 22.
