ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A New York man who robbed seven convenience stores - one of them twice in the same evening - has been sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Shaun Zimmer was sentenced in Rochester Tuesday for a five-day crime spree last July that also included robbing a bank and stabbing a police officer who was trying to arrest him.

He’d been released from state prison two months earlier.

The 35-year-old was sentenced as a second violent felony offender after pleading guilty to assault and robbery.
