BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Burlington police are seeking a suspect in an attack on a transgender man.

Police say the 38-year-old victim was found lying on the ground at a homeless encampment and suffering from apparent head trauma.

The attack was reported at around 11 a.m. Sunday in the area of the Barge Canal on Pine Street.

The victim was hospitalized with facial fractures, subdural hematoma or bleeding on the brain and broken ribs. Police say the man remained unconscious on Wednesday.
