BOSTON (AP) - Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. has extended his hitting streak to a career-best 29 games with a single Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies.

It’s the longest hitting streak in the majors this season and tied with Johnny Damon (2005) for the fourth-longest in Red Sox history. Dom DiMaggio holds the franchise record with a 34-game streak in 1949. DiMaggio’s brother, Joe, hit in 56 straight games in 1941 for the major league record.

Bradley lined Chad Bettis’ first pitch of his at-bat in the fourth inning past third baseman Nolan Arenado and into left field to keep the streak going.
