MEQUON, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say remains found in the Milwaukee River have been identified as those of a Mequon woman who disappeared in November.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office used dental records to identify 53-year-old Jacquelyn Ranallo.
Mequon Detective Chuck O’Connell says the autopsy found nothing suspicious nor any signs of foul play, and the cause of death remains unknown for now. Toxicology test results won’t come back for six to eight weeks.
Police searched the river for days after Ranallo disappeared, but not as far south as the site in River Hills where the remains were found Tuesday.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1ViMBkC ) her disappearance had baffled family friends and police because she had no apparent physical, mental or emotional problems. A $15,000 reward produced no solid leads.
