VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - A Vicksburg man faces a charge of second degree murder in the Monday death of his 62-year-old girlfriend at her home.

Police Capt. Sandra Williams tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/2492lXE) 27-year-old Dexter Smith is accused in Marry Warren’ death during an argument.

Williams says Warren was found dead by fire department paramedics responding to a medical call at her home, and immediately called police for help.

Warren was pronounced dead at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey, and Smith was taken into custody.

Her body sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy, where the state medical examiner ruled the death a homicide and listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the victim’s head.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Smith.
