GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A Grand Forks man charged with murder in the fatal stabbing of another man during a fight last fall is scheduled to plead guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.

Court documents show that 36-year-old Nicolas Peralez Jr. is scheduled for a change-of-plea hearing on June 6. His trial on the murder charge that was to begin next week has been canceled. Sentencing is set for July 27.

Peralez is accused in the death last October of 31-year-old Joshua Neumann outside Neumann’s apartment.
