BOSTON (AP) - Boston police have launched an investigation into a video depicting a confrontation where an off-duty officer allegedly forced a civilian to the ground in the city’s Back Bay section.

Police confirmed Wednesday that Internal Affairs is reviewing the incident, which happened around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Arlington and Boylston streets.

The video, filmed by a 47-year-old bystander, begins with the unidentified officer in a Boston Red Sox jersey crouched on top of a man on the ground.

The police department’s official incident report states that the officer was turning onto Arlington Street in his personal vehicle when the man struck his driver’s side window with an umbrella “as he was crossing illegally against the green light.”

Police say the 54-year-old man that the officer detained wasn’t charged.
