CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A flight of more than a dozen C-17s from Joint Base Charleston are taking off at the same time as part of a training exercise with troops from Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

The planes are leaving Charleston on Thursday morning.

They are flying to Pope Airfield at Fort Bragg, where they will conduct airdrops and low-level tactical training with the 82nd Airborne Division.

The exercises are part of what’s being called the Airborne’s “All American Week” celebration at Fort Bragg.

A release from the base says that airlift units from North Carolina, Washington state, Texas and Rhode Island are also participating.
