ERIE, Pa. (AP) - Five defendants have been ordered to stand trial in the slayings of two teenagers in northwestern Pennsylvania last summer.

Sixteen-year-olds Shakur Franklin and Elijah Jackson were killed and four other teens were wounded July 24 following an all-star high school football game in Erie.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1SGKOUG ) reports that a judge in Erie County held all five defendants for trial Monday on criminal homicide, first-degree murder and other charges.

Twenty-year-old Stephen Russell, 18-year-old Jahaun Jones and 19-year-olds Keshawn McLaurin and Demond Mitchell are charged in the drive-by slaying of Franklin. Twenty-one-year-old Darion A. Eady is accused of killing Jackson in a separate shooting at the same event.

Defense attorneys argued for dismissal of the charges, saying no evidence presented proved that their clients had guns or fired them.
